About Us

Hi-Lux Technical Services Pty. Ltd. is an Australian owned manufacturer and supplier of quality LED Signs, Traffic Management Systems and associated Control and Detection equipment.

We are recognised for our expertise in the application of total turnkey solutions - from the initial design stage through to the commissioning and ongoing maintenance of our finished products.

Establised in 1991 primarily as a traffic signal maintenance company, Hi-Lux has applied their expertise in progressively extending its reach into other fields providing a complete range of products and solutions to the traffic signal industry and government departments throughout Australia.

Our purpose built office and manufacturing facility in Thomastown, Victoria, is fully equipped and enables us to remain at the forefront of the industry with the latest components, designs and production processes.

Hi-Lux has also invested heavily into research and development, continuing to explore software and hardware solutions for current and future traffic management.

Variable Message Signs

Variable Message Signs (VMS) are an electronic traffic sign used on roadways to give motorists information such as traffic congestion, travel times, accidents, incidents, roadwork zones, or speed limits on a specific roadway segment.

Our range includes fixed VMS and portable VMS platforms. The messages displayed on our signs can be programmed locally on the unit's control panel, or units equipped with modems can be programmed remotely.

Our series of VMS systems are manufactured by Hi-Lux in Australia and are fully compliant with the required design standards.

Every product features bright, colour LED displays for easy viewing and are mounted in high quality industrial aluminium grade cabinets.

The Hi-Lux Driver Control System allows easy operation and features a host of communication methods including Travel Time Protocol, RTA, HTS protocols, and can be remotely communicated to via RS232/422/485, Local Radio, Ethernet or Mobile.

Changeable Message Signs

Changeable Message Signs (CMS) are an electronic traffic sign similar to Variable Message Signs (VMS) but feature a display of changeable arrays such as "Too Fast/Slow Down" Signs, Ramp Control Signs and Speed Limiting Signs such as School Zone Signs.

Hi-Lux is Australia's largest manufacturer and supplier of CMS technology and our School Speed Zone signs in particular are the most commonly used CMS throughout Australia.

Fixed Message Signs (FMS) are highly visible signs such as "No Left/Right Turn" and "Give Way To Pedestrian" signs commonly seen throughout Australian Roads.
